Palisade 78x60x36 inch Vinyl Shower Surround Kit 57006

The Palisade 78x60x36 inch Vinyl Shower Surround Kit 57006 offers a straightforward solution for updating bathroom showers without major renovations. Measuring 78 inches high by 60 inches wide and 36 inches deep, this kit in Urban Coast finish uses interlocking vinyl panels that glue directly over existing surfaces. Homeowners tackling weekend bathroom refreshes find its design practical for creating a waterproof enclosure quickly.

Installation stands out for its simplicity, requiring no demolition or specialized tools beyond construction adhesive. The kit includes four panels, two 78-inch J-trims, inside corner trims, L-trims, two corner shelves, and tubes of adhesive and sealant, allowing completion in about one day. Those new to DIY projects appreciate the built-in grout lines that eliminate messy grouting, though precise cutting for custom fits demands careful measuring.

Durability comes from the UV-cured polyurethane layer, which resists scratches and yellowing better than standard vinyl surrounds. In humid bathrooms with daily use, the matte Urban Coast finish maintains its look under fluorescent lighting and steam exposure. Panels weigh in at 92 pounds total, making them sturdy yet manageable for two-person handling during setup.

Real-world use reveals strong moisture resistance thanks to snug interlocking edges that minimize water seepage when applied over a waterproof base. Families with busy mornings value the low-maintenance surface that wipes clean easily, reducing mold risks compared to tiled showers. However, the vinyl's 0.2-inch thickness might feel less premium to those preferring heavier materials.

For rectangular walk-in showers, this kit fits standard 60x36-inch spaces seamlessly, with panels combining to 58.75 inches wide nominally for trim allowance. Renters or flippers updating properties without permanent changes benefit from its glue-up method and reversible nature. Gaps can appear if the substrate isn't perfectly flat, so surface prep proves essential for a flawless result.

The included corner shelves add functional storage for shampoo bottles, enhancing everyday usability in compact bathrooms. Users in coastal or high-humidity areas note the material's resistance to wear from hard water splashes. While versatile for most glue-up applications, it suits level surfaces best and may not ideal for severely uneven walls without additional prep.

Shipping arrives on a pallet via LTL carrier due to size, which ensures protection but requires checking for delivery access. Practical for homeowners seeking a classic style without contractor costs, the kit's accessories streamline the process. Those prioritizing quick, affordable shower overhauls often find it matches needs well, particularly in scenarios avoiding tile's ongoing upkeep.

Overall performance balances ease with reliability, though results hinge on following included assembly instructions. Budget-conscious renovators appreciate the time savings over traditional surrounds, making it a solid pick for functional upgrades. It shines in straightforward installs but rewards preparation for optimal waterproofing and aesthetics.
